Retirement is my NEXT EXIT

Everyone is waiting and looking forward for their retirement. This is one of the reason why we keep ourselves invested. The reason why we need to add a buying power to our portfolio. The reason why we are working hard. The reason why we are saving and living frugally.

Another definition from members of the forum:

Wikipedia definition of retirement:

Retirement is the point where a person stops employment completely.[1][2] A person may also semi-retire by reducing work hours.

I'm trying to figure out my own definition of retirement, here is what came out of my head:

Retirement is spending time with the people you loved without worrying that you will run out of cash.Retirement from 9-5 hours job. Retirement from  your day job while receiving passive income from real estate, stocks, mutual funds, blogging, side line businesses etc. etc. Retirement is having a good life. Retirement is the time to help others and continuously making an impact. Retirement is the time which you contributed something to the world to be a better place.

Let's work together hand in hand. Together we can achieve our retirement.

Sincerely yours,

P.S. Today is my last day as Cost Accountant from one of the biggest company  in oil and gas industry, I counted and waited for this time of the year. Retirement from 9-5 hours job. I might be a full time Newbie Mentor. I'm hoping that I have a full support from newbies.

Dance with MCP and PLC

What if you can dance while earning?
What if you sit down and cash flows unknowingly?
What if you can use your talents in earning money?
What if you can follow your passion without fear of failures?

The cash gifts received from families and friends last wedding day during our prosperity dance were invested in the stock market and used for furnishing our condominium investment.

My wife and I agreed that our extra money will be put to financial instrument that will beat inflation in the long run. Stock market was the chosen battlefield. Again, stock market is  risky, you need to study and do a thorough research.

We decided to picked AGI for long term but due to selling of shares by Sir Andrew Tan last July the price went down below 25, We switched strategy to a mid-term play. We decided to cut loss and buy another stock which was MCP.

I researched the financial standing of MCP and management plans. As per 2013 yearend price closed at 13.68 and the continuous increased in company's valuation as per table below.

source: Technistock

Another factor, the opening of City of Dreams that will give a potential increase of earnings in the near future.

I triggered the buy button last July in which the stock trading at 11.18 - 11.42 price.
As of today writing, the results showed a 22% gains:

The results of the researched and thorough analysis paid off. There is no magic formula.
The money from prosperity dance grew by 22%.

As per PAM updates 2 weeks ago, PLC is one of mid-term play, having a direct relationship with the results of City of Dreams operation and having an agreement with MCP of 80%  pay out from unrestricted retained earnings. PLC potential upside of 10% is still possible but at the entry point of 1.78.

Col Analysis:

Sincerely yours,

P. S. I will be launching a NEWBIE program and hoping for your support.

Christmas Money Machines

Roma, la citta eterna. I spent my weekend with my brother and sister in Rome, Italy. I'm thankful that I was able to share my investing experience and goals for the upcoming months. I started planning about the business that I want to launch.

It's very important for all of us to have an extra business and create another money machines especially this upcoming Christmas seasons. You can sell handmade Christmas decors and toys, you can sell bibingka and puto bumbong at "simbang gabi" etc. etc.

Maybe you want to add a buying power to your stocks portfolio thru your Christmas bonus. In this season of the year, we need to control our expenses especially in buying Christmas gifts and shopping expensive clothes. Remember to pay yourself first.

Create different sources of income and cut your expenses.

Sincerely yours,

Newbie Mentor

How about living with dividends without working?

Those are few sample of dividends received.

Companies can declare dividends because of their good financial standing and can encourage shareholders that they are receiving returns from their investment.

Dividends can be in the form of cash, stock and property dividends. Most stable and secure companies can distribute dividends.

The board of directors make decisions if the company’s earnings can be share to stockholders or reinvest like plant expansion, or entering into new market and launching of new products.

Three important dates to remember:
1.       Date of declaration
2.       Ex Date
3.       Date of payment

Date of Declaration-

The date on which the board of directors announces to shareholders and the market as a whole that the company will pay a dividend.  In many cases, the stockholders meeting can be the date of declaration and later will be disclose in PSE.

(Heto yung time kung kelan napagkasunduan ng board of directors na idistribute ang earnings ng company for the stockholders to be happy)

Ex Date-

On (or after) this date the security trades without its dividend. If you buy a dividend paying stock one day before the ex-dividend you will still get the dividend but if you buy on the ex-dividend date, you won't get the dividend.

Conversely, if you want to sell a stock and still receive a dividend that has been declared you need to sell on (or after) the ex-dividend day.

Few days before the ex-date, the usual movement is for the stock to goes up because of the buying pressure that could push it’s price then on the ex-date most of traders sell their stocks because they earned already from price momentum.

(Heto yung time kung saan ang mga traders ay nakabili na days before pa lang ng ex-date. Halimbawa DMCI stock dividends on October 14, kailangan meron ka ng hawak on the 13th para entitled ka na, kung bumili ka on October 14 then hindi ka entitled sa dividends).

Date of Payment

This is the date company mails out the dividend to the holder of record.
This date is generally a week or more after the date of record so that the company has sufficient time to ensure that it accurately pays all those who are entitled.

On the date of payment , you will received an email from your broker that you received the dividend payment.

Sincerely yours,

Why pay for a fee while there are ways to get it free?

Many traders and investors want to save in this journey to financial freedom. Few hacks to get things for free.

1. You tube videos for stock charting lessons.
2.  Free webinars offered by institutions.
3.  Free ebooks from friends and amazon.
4.  Free movies at
5.  Investopedia for finance definition.

Yes, I do love things for free. I live a frugal life with luxury. I save every month and  add to my investment.  Those things for free, I value them.

There are things that I paid and invested . A good example is my education, I was able to study in London, UK in Hult International Business School that cost my savings, it triggered opportunities. I could easily find a new job, I can build my own business, I can travel in any part of the world because of friendship that I established with my colleagues etc etc,
I learned to pay for a price and later reap my rewards.

I started my journey as a newbie mentor in the Philippine stock market because of growing demand of opinions and advice. An OFW from UAE asked me if I could be a mentor to him without hesitation I said "YES". I offered my opinions and advice for free. I used to give PAM free updates with my friends which is now offered for a fee(I'll give reason why). I'm encourage by this newbie from UAE:

I decided to developed an application that could help investors and traders with charting problems and monitoring their stocks which is PAM PSE Tracker with Free and Premium versions

The encouraging messages and feedbacks from friends asking for advice blow my mind. I know that I will not be able to answers inquiries and messages all the time because of my full time job. I decided to start the PAM Academy and build a mastermind group.

The academy received good and bad feedbacks which we considered constructive criticism. A question came out,

Why there will be a monthly fee?

1. Time and effort by PAM Academy staff.
2. Website maintenance and domain hosting.
3. Fee for webinar software and video editing software.

Why not give it for free since you are earning from stock recommendations?

The truth my investment in all of the above tools are not recovered yet. I'm thankful that  benefits exceed the costs. The benefits given to our members.
The decisions to make it a monthly subscription are voted by PAM friends. The promise that we will be giving you a thorough research of our chosen stocks and guidance from us will be put on a higher level. A good example was the warning to set aside buying power on our last week updates, the AR which gave us a pretty good amount of gains and today, TUGS that gave us at least 4% gains. I can see that my portfolio is fighting and hopefully this reflects from our members:

I still hoping from Old Students that you will support us. The monthly subscription for old students will start on January 2015.

Sincerely yours,

This review is for NEWBIES in the market. It does n't necessarily mean you need to follow the NEWBIE mentor, you need to validate his analysis and recommendations. There is no master, guru or experts in this field. There is only "YOU" in front of your trading platform.

I would like you to validate my recommendation. The last recommendation made was PCOR vs PGOLD which PCOR gave a good amount of returns while PGOLD still lagging behind. Our target for PCOR is to hit at least 15 pesos level in year 2015 while PGOLD is to come back at 46 above. PGOLD showing weaknesses, I want you to test buy at 31 level.

Now. let's take a look for another stock to be recommended by your NEWBIE mentor:

Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPI) was incorporated on March 20, 2006 as a holding company for investments in water utilities, toll roads, electricity distribution and healthcare services. MPI is 55.8%-owned by Metro Pacific Holdings, Inc as of December 31, 2013. Source PSE

No doubt that this company is good for long term because of the companies under it's portfolio, adding to that most of the services offered are basic necessities and part of our daily lives such as healthcare, water, electricity and toll roads. Sir Manny Pangilinan, as Chairman of the Board of Directors definitely have a good expansion plans and future plans for the company to be one of the giants conglomerates in the country.

As of 09/10/2014 closed at 5 level. The lowest possible entry is 4.83 but for you to have a margin of safety 4.77 below is highly recommended. The target price for mid term will be 5. 30 while for long term will be 6.20 in year 2015.

Col financial revised their fair value estimates:

Potential upside in the future is promising therefore a buy recommendation for MPI.

Sincerely yours,

This story is from the book, The 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen R. Covey.

Clear your mind and closed your eyes, picture yourself going to the funeral of a loved one. Picture yourself driving to the chapel, parking the car and getting out. As you walk inside the chapel. you notice the flowers. the soft organ music. You see the faces of friends and family you pass along the way. You feel the shared sorrow of losing, the joy of having known, you radiates from the hearts of the people.

As you walk down to the front of the room and look inside the casket, you suddenly come face to face with yourself. This is your funeral.

All these people have come to honor you, to express feelings of love and appreciation of your life. As you take a seat and wait for the services to begin, you look at the program at your hand. There are four speakers, the first is coming from your immediate family and extended family - wife, husband, children, parents, grandparents, cousin, aunts that have come from  all over the country to attend. The second speaker is one of your friends that can give a sense of who you were as a person.
The third speaker is from your work or profession. The fourth is from your community or organization. where you have been involved in service.

Now think deeply. What would you like each of these speakers to say about you and your life?
What kind of wife, husband, father, mother would you like their words to reflect? What kind of daughter, son, cousin? What kind of friend? What kind of working associate?

What kind of character would you like them to have seen in you? What contributions or what achievements you want them to remember? Look carefully at the people around you. What difference would you like to have made in their lives?

Kindly reflect and answer those questions.

Sincerely yours,

We have announce and hidden goals in our journey and adventure in life. Announce goals are finishing education, marrying first love, passing a board exam etc. Hidden goals are saving and investing, travelling the world, early retirement, building sideline businesses etc.

I might failed in selling 1 million copies of  newbie book but not with my mission and vision to educate Filipinos about saving, investing, and achieving financial freedom, there is no reason for me to be tired and stopped with my mission. I know with my limited resources, networks and marketing arm, it will be a tough journey. I'm begging  everyone to join me and share my goals to your friends, families, colleagues and everyone in your circle of networks.

I have chosen the book to spread financial literacy because of distance barriers that I would not be able to personally be at your side discussing different financial instruments.

Please join me in this journey.

Thank you in advance,

Sincerely yours,
